Our Story


The idea for Banyan Home started over a simple dinner conversation between my wife, Annabelle, and me. We were sitting at our kitchen table, excitedly discussing how we’d manage our first home. Then, a big question hit us: “How are we going to handle all this?” We soon realized that many homeowners feel the same anxiety, overwhelmed by the tasks of maintenance, interior design, finance, appliance repair, and home projects.

After doing some research and talking to friends and family, we discovered that no simple solution existed. So, we decided to roll up our sleeves and create one ourselves! That’s how Banyan Home was born.

Our vision quickly expanded beyond just our needs. We are building a comprehensive digital platform that integrates everything homeowners need into one easy-to-use application. With the incredible support of the Darden School of Business, through an Independent Study for Venturing Projects and several Batten Innovation grants, we developed a prototype and were accepted into the University of Virginia’s Summer i.Lab Incubator where are working towards our first deal with a construction company.

Banyan Home’s core feature, the household to-do list, is based on deep research and understanding the unique challenges homeowners face. Our mission is to bring peace of mind and control to homeowners everywhere by providing a centralized platform for managing all aspects of homeownership.
